Confetti Masquerade Ball & Wet N Wild Sparked {nails}

Anyway I was aiming for a wine color but it’s not quite as perfect as I wanted. This is more the shade I wanted: http://dillydallas.blogspot.com/2011/11/nail-inspiration.html

But I like the idea of a pop of pink sparkle on top of the wine color. There was a dress that was inspiration for this pink and burgundy combo but now I can’t find that link that. Oh well.

So here we have Confetti in 041 Masquarade Ball & Wet N’ Wild in 435G Sparked. I think I want to try this with something that has a bit more red purple to it like a cabernet. Somehow this turned out looking less red than I had hoped.

I did just a quick swipe of the glittery pink on each nail and didn’t cover the whole thing and like how that looks.

JewelMint Metal Mosaic Ring Review

JewelMint Mosaic Ring on (picture 2)

JewelMint Metal Mosaic RingI had signed up for JewelMint but not bought anything yet when I received a coupon via email for 60% off. After much debate I chose the Metal Mosaic Ring because I think it will be versatile, work with other jewelry I already own and because as crafty as I am I can’t really make solid metal rings. 🙂

So far the one thing I’m not liking is that even though you don’t have to order jewelry each month, it looks like you have to sign in and say “pass on this month.” As far as I can tell this is a subscription model.

I’ve worn the ring for several weeks and I think it’s a very versatile piece for me. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it as well.

My un-boxing after JewelMint’s little intro video…

November 2011 Birchbox

  • LaROCCA Champagne and Shimmer Acai Sugar Polish
  • Chuao Chocolatier Chocolate Bars (these are delicious!)
  • Klorane Soothing Eye Makeup Remover with Cornflower Water
  • Oscar Blandi Jasmine Protein Mist
  • Zoya Gems & Jewels Collection

I didn’t manage to review all of the products for the blog this month but wanted to go ahead and post this.

Klorane Soothing eye makeup remover with coneflower

My ingredients differed from those listed in the Cosmetics Database so I ran my own report. The Cosmetics Database gave this a 3 (left image) which was already good but with the ingredients from the bottle I got a 2 (right image.) Click to enlarge either report.

I ended up not trying this ONLY because the flowery smell made my nose itch (I can’t handle some flowery scents hanging around on me all day, allergies.)

Notice the contradicting in marketing there? Fragrance in the ingredients but then just after that they’re trying to market that it’s fragrance free? Meh.

The rest of the ingredients were good so I did try this. I do wonder because it had a wonderful cooling feel after I rinsed if there wasn’t mint or something else that’s not listed in the ingredients. It wasn’t quite the same feel as mint oil but similar in some way.

Zoya Loredana & Wet n Wild Shield

Zoya Loredana on ALL of the nails and then Wet n’ Wild Shield (231) over the ring finger nail for a metallic shine and contrast.

This is the first time I’ve really left the matte gray on for awhile and I wanted to note that because I can’t put a top coat on this, it REALLY doesn’t last nearly as long as the glossy colors.

Has anyone used any matte top coats like Essie’s “Matte About You”? What do you think about them? Does your nail polish last as long without chipping with it on?

Snapette

I’m liking the Snapette iphone app but can’t figure out a good way to share outside of the app. Granted I haven’t yet set up a user account so maybe it will be more obvious after I do that. Meanwhile here are some of the gorgeous things I saw:
