I seem to be dressed as a candycorn – thrifted sweaters

No, I will not be wearing the yellow polo, orange sweater combo out of the house. I got over holiday dressing a long time ago. For some reason the orange was making my skin look extra pink when I took a photo so I tried the yellow under it but it reminded me of candycorn.

These are actually the two sweaters I picked up from Goodwill a couple of weeks ago for $2.50 each. Both looked brand new with no pilling. One was a light wool from Eddie Bauer (cotton, nylon, rayon, cashmere) and the other was Old Navy (wool.)

Both were dryclean only so I pick them up from the dry cleaner tomorrow.
Total cost of two sweaters with drycleaning will be a little over $12.

I’m still up in the air a bit about the orange one. It looked good in the mirror but it really doesn’t work with my skin in the photos so I’m not sure which one is lying to me. But the brown is a good basic.

Layering – Short sleeve sweaters

Fall is here for parts of the US. Or if you live in Kentucky you’re wondering what is up with the record high temperatures for October. Some nights it’s chilly so I started thinking about layering. Although it’s still not cold enough for a sweater, I wanted some short sleeve sweaters last year but never got any. Maybe I’ll get one of these this year. I think any of these would look good with a plain long-sleeve t-shirt underneath or a cami or a t-shirt even – should be pretty versatile.

Travel/Gym Makeup & Jewelry bags

Sadly, none of these is quite what I’m looking for. The closest one is the brush roll/bag from ulta in the bottom right corner but I have a phobia about carrying things with magnets (electronic gadgets like a phone … I just don’t want magnets near that type of thing.) This magnet problem is the same problem I’m having with most purses – most of those “snap” closures that go together so easily are magnets which I don’t want.

What I Wore Today – Friday Oct 8

Raspberry Polo ~$5 end of season kmart
Jeans ~$10 walmart on sale (I had to hem them)
Mia Brown ballet flats ~$80 zappos.com (a few years ago)

I think one of the reasons I don’t post more photos of what I wear is because I tend to get in the habit of wearing similar things for several weeks before switching to something only slightly different. And to be honest, what I wear most of the time is fairly simple and practical.

I’ll post 2 sweaters I thrifted today in a couple of days. I think one of the plugins I added is keeping me from posting from my phone. And I probably need to track down my camera instead of using my phone to take photos anyway. 🙂

Alternative Yoga Mat

Ok, it’s not cheap ($65 – ouch) but it looks like it might be an eco-friendly alternative to the average yoga mats. It’s not organic but it isn’t plastic or foam either. And it resolves one of the issues I have with my regular yoga mat … how the heck do I clean it! This you can just throw in the wash!

Full disclosure – if you click on the image above it is an affiliate link but I picked out the product because I want it!

Their site says:

  • Extremely absorbent microfiber sports gripping silicone nubs on one side.
  • 24″ x 68″ (61 cm x 172cm)
  • 80% polyester, 20% nylon; 100% eco-friendly silicon nubs
  • Wash before first use, dyes will bleed
  • Machine wash warm, colors separately
  • Do not bleach
  • Tumble dry low

I only wish they had a few more colors to choose from!

Small Stripe Scarves

Follow my blog with bloglovin

I dreamed of a thin stripe scarf last night. (Not sure why) It was more nautical looking, light, a little stretchy, rayon. Either deep navy or black stripes. When I decided to look for something today I decided something gray and cream might look better or go with more of what I actually own.

I’m not sure yet…my favorites are larger.
