JCPenney – “Backordered” is different than “there are no more”

And the purse I ordered from JCPenney that was backordered – then they canceled the order. Clearly “there are no more” is different from “backordered” so I’m a little miffed. But read on… that wasn’t the case!

It took them a week to tell me that my order had been canceled and what’s worse is that they haven’t removed the purse from their online store so I could try purchasing it again.

We must cancel your Backorder because our supplier is temporarily out of stock. Please call our Toll-Free shopping number 1-800-322-1189 and one of our representatives will be happy to help you with an alternate selection.”

I’m very picky about my purses. No magnet snap, certain size, certain strap. I’ve looked through their entire stock, there is nothing comparable.

Also do you notice that it says “temporarily out of stock” mentioned in their e-mail? If it’s actually temporary, what if I want to wait for that purse? I thought that’s what backordered meant? And I saw the “backordered until April 24th” before I checked out, I was willing to wait. I knew that when I ordered.

OK – so I did call to ask but their automated system put me on hold, played 30 second of hold music and then the hold music cut off mid song. Waited 3 minutes, redialed.

Got someone this time. Static-y call, had them call me back. Was surprised that they did and the call was fine. She said that if the item is backordered for over a month JCPenney cancels the order. Awesome (note the sarcasm.) So I’m going to try again since it’s now less than a month for the item to come in…

Stupid.

Edit: Since @jcpenney canceled my backorder because they ASSUMED I didn’t want to wait 30 days, I have to pay $10 more (promo code I used no longer works and I can’t re-order off the original invoice.)

This has made me mad and if I could buy this Liz Claiborne purse anywhere else I would.  I checked ebay and that was a no-go so I went ahead and made the purchase AGAIN with JCP. Maybe I’ll see my purse by the end of April. This has been idiotic.

Everyday Minerals pressed powder base

So… I was going to do a review of the Everyday Minerals pressed powders. I love it but it suddenly sold out in November of 2010. I asked a few months ago if they were going to be getting them back in, their answer was yes. Well they’re still not in so I asked again. Here’s the response I got:

“We are currently looking into more eco-friendly packaging for our pressed powders. 🙂  We don’t have an estimated date for when they will be returning, but be sure to check back in the future for any updates.  The pressed powders were closest to our Matte/Semi Matte formula.

The big size products (blush, foundation, etc.) do come with the close-able sifter.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions.”

I did in fact ask which loose powder they were similar to and if the foundations came in a sifter (in case you’re wondering why the response included that info.)

I’m glad they’re trying to come up with a more eco-friendly solution but for those of us who have been using it everyday as a staple item it’s a bit frustrating to suddenly be left hanging.

I really really dislike loose powder because they seem to go everywhere on me but I have mastered the loose bronzer with the closable sifters… So … I’ll probably be getting some loose powder base soon so I can try it before I’m out completely of the pressed.

The Everyday Minerals pressed base beats the Pur pressed base hands down. Softer, healthier feeling and looking when applied than the Pur. Let’s hope that I don’t end up loathing the loose or that they bring back the pressed base soon!

I ♥ clearance stuff… brown suede hat

Yup, bought a hat I had no plans to buy. Went in to Kohl’s to look at shoes and came out with a hat. Bam.

For just under $7!

Originally $30-something!

I don’t think I’ve bought a non-baseball cap hat since high school. I don’t even think I’ve bought a winter-y knit hat in that long either. Trying to get a little variety back into my wardrobe here. 🙂

What I wore today – sorta

This is actually not today but something I wore sometime last week and couldn’t get to upload with my phone. The shirt is a new-to-me chico’s shirt I picked up thrifting.

And then a scary photo of my closet. It’s not normally organized by color but I had some colors grouped by accident and wondered if I had an excess of any particular color. Turned out, though it’s hard to tell in the picture, I have a lot of white short sleeve shirts at the back there (that I don’t wear much.)

Charles Albert Women’s Cobra Ballet Flat REVIEW

You know how you find a pair of shoes online for really cheap and they look cute and you think they might be too good to be true. Because they’re only $15 … and you have Amazon Prime so shipping is free?

Well they are too good to be true. See the wrinkles above?

See the really weird flat spot above (that I’m assuming is glue holding two types of material together.)

See the funny little elf flip as the shoes pull up at the toe? Am I too picky? Yes, I sent them back. Yes, shipping on returns is deducted because I didn’t label them as “defective” so I wasted $5 trying a pair of shoes on from Amazon.com (I did ship back a pair of defective jeans and the shipping wasn’t deducted from the refund.) Sigh. They were SO close to awesome!
