Stila look at me liquid lipstick in Bella (swatched below) is a matte neon lipstick that’s part of the stila’s stay all day liquid lipstick line. And although I didn’t wear this one all day … yet, this neon matte lipstick seems like it will have some staying power. I ended up using coconut oil to get it back off both my lips and my hand.
Stila look at me liquid lipstick in Bella – Neon Matte madness!
I’m on the fence about this. I am kinda in love with the color … but I also feel like I look a bit freaky with it on. And I don’t wear a vibrant or deep lipstick … ever. I recently posted the EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics score on my Birchbox July post and it’s a little less healthy than I would normally go with but I don’t know of any natural equivalent to this. And this is not the type of color most people would wear daily!
I do think this would be pool proof and waterproof…. it does . not . budge . once it’s dry. Which is nice because one of the reasons I don’t wear a lot of dark or vibrant lipsticks is because they do smudge or come off on my teeth. This does not.
But that means you also have to be careful putting it on. You should use the wand to get the shape you want on both top and bottom lips, don’t press your lips together because that can make it look weird. Just apply and let it dry. I have no idea what lip liner you could even begin to use with this so apply carefully because Unevenness WILL show … you can kinda see that in the image below:
Final review of the Stila look at me liquid lipstick in Bella
I’m eyeing the other colors even though I’m not even sure that I will wear this one! The matte neon is very appealing to me. I don’t know why but it is. The fact that it stays put and also comes in a lipgloss tube is also appealing. I’m so torn!!!
Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Zodiac is a very complex neutral shade. In daylight the swatch looks more subtle but in artificial light the shimmer really pops. I couldn’t really capture this with photos so I decided to swatch it on my hand and do a video. It was a wet application of the eyeshadow in the video. When applied dry it’s much lighter and can be used more subtly.
Swatch video of Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Zodiac with in both natural and artificinal light:
I have included below some photos of both wet and dry applications on my eyes both in natural light as well as in my bathroom. (Nitpicking my up close photos – I don’t think anyone should ever be this close to my eyebrows but in the photos you get to see that I need to clean them up a little. Also a few photos it somehow looks like my eyeliner isn’t applied all the way down even though it is.) In photos: Everyday Minerals powder foundation, Mica Beauty liquid liner, Covergirl Waterproof mascara in black. That’s it. No other eyeshadows applied.
Shiseido – Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers. I didn’t notice the perfume in the ingredients list for the Shiseido blotting paper which changes my mind on it. A blotting paper should be simple. May also contain parabens (the ingredient list on the package doesn’t match the ingredient list on Birchbox’s site.)
Annick Goutal – Petite Chérie perfume. You all know how I feel about perfume by now right? Synthetic is a no go. And my allergies make it hard to find even natural perfumes that work.
essie – Luxeffects in “a cut above” pink glittery top coat. Nice!
twistband – Hair tie in neon yellow. Yup.
tarte – Lipsurgence lip tint in “amused” a hot pink gloss stick. See video.

I’m actually really happy with the contents of this box. What I got was a little more along the lines of things I will use (with the exception of the perfume.)
I do think it’s funny that both times that they’ve sent me nail polish, it has been super similar to something I already own. I will at some point do a side by side comparison of both the teals and both of the glittery pinks.
And sorry if I sound a little congested in this video. Also note – changed my mind on the blotting papers. See above.
I did actually have fun with this this month even though it wasn’t something I would really wear. My first makeup video (wait, I may have done one other before…) and I know I need to try and keep things shorter and ramble less next time.
Exude Lip Creme in Red #1: reviewed in video – ingredients listed below video. It’s a nice creamy lip color that seems a bit like a cross between gloss and lipstick. To me the red was a bit too intense on me personally but I think it’s a good red. I do not know about staying power yet. And I haven’t had time to type up the ingredients to run through the cosmetics database either but at a glace it’s not uber healthy. https://www.birchbox.com/shop/february-box/exude-lipstick
LA FRESH® Eco Beauty Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover UPDATE: These work well, smell a bit like oranges and have some nourishing essential oils which is very unusual for nail polish remover. HealthIER than other nail polish removers (never found one that would pass the cosmetics database test.) They are a bit pricy at $9.99 for 18 wipes BUT they also have the added perk of being individually wrapped so I may buy some to throw in my purse or for travel. https://www.birchbox.com/shop/lafresh-nail-polish-remover-wipes

For some reason I’ve been a bit in love with Burberry lately. They’re typically clean, sharp, and not crazy. Though I think I like their fall/winter stuff a bit better than the spring/summer. SS11 seems a bit heavy on the leopard print but could be that I’m attracted to their solids when perusing shopping sites (not like I can afford a $3,000 coat yet.) Kinda in love with the Burberry shearling aviator coat.
