Silver Chevron Earrings from South Moon Under

Silver Chevron Earrings from South Moon UnderWhile visiting Rehobeth Beach DE back at the beginning of August I was able to do a little bit of shopping and picked up a couple of items I’m REALLY loving and have been wearing a lot. Particularly these Silver Chevron Earrings from South Moon Under.

They’re called the  “Tribecca Round Open Chevron Earrings” in matte silver and I bought them on Rehoboth Ave. South Moon Under also has these available online in this matte silver as well as gold. The pictures on their website don’t do them justice at all.

They are a really nice size earring. Not too big and gaudy, not so small that they aren’t noticeable and they aren’t too heavy either. (I hate earrings that are cute but painful.)

These silver chevron earrings are super cute and a little preppy.
Loving them!

They’re really well made. The chevron pattern, despite being open to see through to the other side, doesn’t really catch on anything. They’re just one of those items that you don’t know you need until you see them.

Cute plastic rings

Cute rings (maybe not all at once) from Lock & Key Coffee shop in Georgetown KY.
They were only $1 each so I bought all four shown here.

JewelMint Metal Mosaic Ring Review

JewelMint Mosaic Ring on (picture 2)

JewelMint Metal Mosaic RingI had signed up for JewelMint but not bought anything yet when I received a coupon via email for 60% off. After much debate I chose the Metal Mosaic Ring because I think it will be versatile, work with other jewelry I already own and because as crafty as I am I can’t really make solid metal rings. 🙂

So far the one thing I’m not liking is that even though you don’t have to order jewelry each month, it looks like you have to sign in and say “pass on this month.” As far as I can tell this is a subscription model.

I’ve worn the ring for several weeks and I think it’s a very versatile piece for me. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it as well.

My un-boxing after JewelMint’s little intro video…

DIY Bracelet to Necklace { more turquoise jewelry }

So I found this great Ralph Lauren bracelet on clearance at Dillard’s. I didn’t like it as a bracelet as much as I wanted it for the giant clasp. I’ve been looking for a giant clasp since Switzerland and I haven’t seen a good one for less than $20+S&H so I jumped at the chance to buy one for about $18 with turquoise beads I knew were at least worth $7 or more. Since this wasn’t my initial purpose for the large clasp I went back and bought a pink bracelet as well.

Turquoise necklace from a Ralph Lauren bracelet

4 Simple steps:

  1. Remove the end from the bracelet (pictured on the right) since it fits the clasp.
  2. Attach it to the end of the chain and connect to the clasp.
  3. Wrap around your neck to decide how long you want it and cut the chain at that point. Mirror comes in handy. 😉
  4. Attach the cut end of the chain to your bracelet.

And voila, you have a new necklace!

Turquoise necklace and earrings

Matches the earrings and ring I previously posted. Yay – a full set!

Vintage Turquoise and Silver Ring

So I’ve been going through things here and came across my grandmother’s jewelry. I knew there were a few turquoise pieces I wanted to find. They were in with the costume jewelry she let the “kids” (us) play with.

I wish I had taken a picture of this ring before I polished it and litterally hammered it back into shape. It was in pretty bad condition, completely black and I could barely get my finger in the misshapen loop. Here it is now though:

Vintage turquoise ringI don’t wear rings a lot but I’ve happily worn this all day. I’m not certain it’s real turquoise but I’m fairly sure it is. It feels good on my hand and it’s pretty unique I think. It think it might be on its way to wardrobe staple. 🙂

There are a couple of bracelets I want to share as well but I’m not done cleaning them up but I started in on them. I wish I had taken a photo of them as well.
